Amy Polumbo Blackmail Threats of Miss New Jersey Photo Scandal

Miss New Jersey released about a dozen embarrassing photographs of her partying and drinking exclusively to TODAY on Thursday. The blonde beauty queen claims the images were sent to pageant officials in an effort to force her to give up her crown.
“I feel sick to my stomach. I really do,” Amy Polumbo told host Matt Lauer. “You know, they’re not that bad, but they were meant to be private. And it is making me feel very vulnerable that the entire country has to see them now because of this situation.”
The beauty queen from New Jersey who’s being blackmailed over a few supposedly racy pictures is refusing to give in to the Internet-trolling slimeball who’s trying to get her dethroned. In a defiant press conference yesterday, Amy Polumbo, who won the Miss New Jersey crown last month, said that she would not “quietly disappear,” even after getting a package in the mail with pictures and a demand that she quit by today.
Her lawyer, Anthony Caruso, wouldn’t say how spicy the shots were, only that they weren’t “that bad” and that she’s pictured “with friends.” Er, like Katie Rees and friends? Neither Miss America nor Miss New Jersey pageant officials commented on the situation. Polumbo will compete in the Miss America pageant — if she keeps her state crown.
Miss New Jersey Photo Scandal? Amy Polumbo, Miss New Jersey, says she has no intention of giving in to an anonymous threat that personal photographs of her will be made public if she refuses to give up her her crown.
“It would certainly be easier for me to simply succumb to these unlawful and immoral threats, and quietly disappear,” Polumbo, 22, said Thursday at a news conference in Asbury Park.
The beauty queen’s lawyer, Anthony Caruso, said that beginning last week, Polumbo, her family and officials in the Miss New Jersey Education Foundation received packages with photographs of her and a demand that she relinquish the crown by Friday, reports the AP.
